Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Draft for review — items marked [CONFIRM] must be completed before publishing.
This Privacy Policy explains how [CONFIRM legal entity name] (ABN [CONFIRM ABN]), trading as Pharmacy POS Direct ("we", "us", "our"), handles personal information collected through pharmacyposdirect.com.au. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Pharmacy POS Direct is part of the RetailCare Group of companies.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need, through the forms on this website:
- Contact / Book a Review form: your name, pharmacy name (optional), email address, phone number (optional) and any message you write.
- Compliance Guide & Checklist form: your name, location (suburb/state), email address and phone number.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which our servers and security tools (including Cloudflare) record to keep the site secure and to limit abuse such as spam submissions.
- Analytics (only if you accept): anonymised usage events such as page views, phone-link clicks and form submissions. Analytics tools load only after you accept the consent banner.
We do not ask you to send patient information, health information or payment card details through this website. Please do not include them in the message field.
2. Why we collect it (APP 3 and APP 6)
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a complimentary Pharmacy Technology Review.
- To email you the Compliance Guide & Checklist you requested, and to follow up about it.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We will not use your details for unrelated purposes without your consent unless the law allows it.
3. Direct marketing (APP 7)
We will only send you marketing about our services if you have asked for it or would reasonably expect it, and every message will include a simple way to opt out. You can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected].
4. Who we share it with (APP 6) and overseas disclosure (APP 8)
We share personal information only with:
- other members of the RetailCare Group, where needed to respond to your request;
- service providers who help us run the website and send email, such as our web host, email delivery provider and Cloudflare (security, content delivery and the Turnstile anti-spam check) [CONFIRM list of providers];
- professional advisers, and regulators or law enforcement where required by law.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States [CONFIRM locations]. Where we disclose information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs.
5. Cookies and analytics
This website uses only essential browser storage by default (for example, remembering your light/dark theme and your consent choice). Analytics are off unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer, where shown, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
6. Security and retention (APP 11)
We protect personal information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, spam and abuse protection, and secure hosting. Enquiries and guide requests are kept for [CONFIRM retention period, e.g. 24 months] and then deleted or de-identified, unless we need to keep them longer to meet legal obligations or because you became a client.
7. Notifiable data breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Access and correction (APPs 12 and 13)
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time (normally 30 days). We may need to verify your identity first.
9. Complaints
If you think we have breached the APPs, contact us first and we will investigate and reply promptly. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
